Trade‑Fair Photography
Unique perspectives on the event—whether through creative lighting or classic documentation—trade‑fair photography is an art that encompasses many facets.
We capture not only the atmosphere of the stand—with and without visitors—but also document events, conversations, discussions, and presentations, fully meeting the event’s requirements.
Using selective creative lighting, we highlight aspects that might otherwise be overlooked. By playing with the contrast of light and shadow, we create images that stand out for their expressiveness. The result is unusual, extraordinary photos that not only document the event but also capture the essence of the trade fair in a uniquely compelling way.

Protest Photography
Protest reporting: Documenting protests, demonstrations, and actions is an important subcategory of reportage photography. At Alto Press, we engage intensively with these dynamic moments to tell the story authentically.
Protest photography requires not only preparation and knowledge but also a trained eye, tact, and creativity. We know how to capture the moment to convey the atmosphere and energy of a demonstration or action. Each shot becomes a visual narrative that brings the mood and message of the protesters to life.

Event: Bavarian Banking Day 2024 - by Alexander Pohl
On November 22, 2024, the Bavarian Banking Day 2024 took place at the headquarters of Unicredit Germany in the HVB Tower, Munich. After an introduction by Marion Höllinger, CEO of UniCredit Bank Germany, economist Prof. Dr. Clemens Fuest of the ifo Institute gave a presentation, and Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder was interviewed by Carola Ferstl.
The event concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Carola Ferstl, featuring Clemens Fuest and Angelika Niebler (CSU).
Because the venue was dark, windowless room with no dedicated lighting system, the lighting conditions were challenging.

Press conferences: IAA Mobility Media Day – by Alexander Pohl
Various car manufacturers attended IAA Mobility Media Day press conferences.
Chairman He Xiapeng and Vice President Brian Gu spoke on behalf of the Chinese e-car manufacturer Xpeng. They presented their innovations and offered a brief overview of the company’s business figures. Although the stand was small, the crowd was large, and the cramped conditions posed a challenge that required creativity.
At Robert Bosch GmbH, Chairman of the Board of Management, Stefan Hartung and Head of the Mobility Division, Dr. Markus Heyn spoke.
After a brief introduction by CEO Klaus Rosenfeld, Matthias Zink, Executive Board Member for Powertrain & Chassis, and Thomas Stierle, Executive Board Member for E-Mobility, addressed the press conference organized by the Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG.
At the Mahle GmbH press conference, Managing Director Arnd Franz focused primarily on political demands.
Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen AG, presented innovations at the large and crowded VW stand.
Because the venues were cramped, there were usually only a few minutes available to take photographs. The tight conditions required lightning-fast preparation and quick scouting of the location to find the best spots or angles for the pictures.
Reportage: Cultural Forces – by Raimond Lueppken
In September 2025, Raimond had the opportunity to accompany Cultural Forces, a group of musicians formed to support the Ukrainian armed forces and bring culture to the front lines through a blend of traditional Ukrainian and international music, including poetry. After each concert they also distribute numerous books, which the soldiers on the front gratefully receive.
During the four days Raimond lived with Cultural Forces in a house, he spent many hours each day travelling with them in a cramped car on roads that were in very poor condition. In that context he became even more familiar with the Ukrainian landscape, which he used for his photographs taken before, during and after the front-concerts.
The reportage had been prepared for months. Because the subject is sensitive, mutual trust is essential. Being that close to the frontline requires constant caution – no risks can be taken, and everything must be coordinated precisely. Raimond maintained contact with Cultural Forces and local partners in advance so that he could work freely and stay focus on site.
During the coverage, depending on the situation, he used different cameras: sometimes a small, discreet one, and other times a larger one. In doing so, he documented a landscape scarred by war yet permeated by an impressive sense of normality.
Protest Photography: Paint Action Against Conscription in Berlin – by Jonas Gehring
On September 2, 2025, three young activists wrote with artificial blood “Do you also draft your children to kill?” on the wall of the Bundestag’s kindergarten. With this action they protested the conscription which the Bundestag proposed its reinstalment. Their signs also read “We object”.
Such paint actions usually only last a few minutes, forcing the photographer to decide in a heartbeat how - and what - to photograph and document the action.
Protest Coverage: Protests Against the IAA Mobility in Munich – by Mex Ludwig
The IAA Mobility took place in Munich, Germany from September 9 to September 15, 2025. Various left-wing groups organized protests that ranged from highway blockades to classic demonstrations and artistic performances in the open spaces of the trade fair.
These protests, with their differing circumstances, presented a wide array of motivations and challenges that required experience and adaptability to capture effectively.
Protest Reportage: Paint Action Against Israel's War Crimes in Gaza at the German Chancellery in Berlin – by Jonas Gehring
At 12 pm, on July 7, 2025, two activists from the group Palestine Rising smeared the façade of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin, Germany leaving red handprints on the wall. With this action they protested German support for Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.
Quick thinking and preparation were essential. The actual act, before the police could intervene, lasts less than a minute. Often the police cordon off the area almost immediately, making it impossible to report on the event. Fortunately, that didn't happen in this case. Instead, the police response was timed to the action, reinforcing the message of the report in every picture.
